3D soft PVC cloisonne
Tooling are more expensive and sophisticated than 2D, they can only be open with a numerical CNC machine, similar to plastic injection tooling.
In the case of 3D you don’t have actual different level, but progressive level, without flat surface, but convex and oblong surface.
3D is more suitable when the design consist of character & cartoon like personage or animal.
Process
Also called pvc cloisonne, soft pvc item are produced the same way as enamel product do. The liquid pvc color is hand filled with a syringe inside the tooling cavity.
Each color is separated by the carving inside the tooling, hence the word “cloisonne”, which refer to “cloison” ( “wall” in French ), original calling for hand color fill enamel process.
Once all the colors and carving ( representing the design and logo ) are filled, the tooling is filled up with black color pvc which will make the back of the product.
The tooling are then placed in an oven at around 60 degres Celsius for a couple of minute and the pvc is baked hard.
Once cooled the pvc is then taken out of the tooling, and the pvc product is basically finished.
The process can started again in the same tooling and so on.
Quality
QCS only uses first grade imported pvc raw material from legitimate and large petrochemical suppliers.
All raw material are EN71 compliant including low cadmium, AZO free…etc.
Another quality of pvc raw material is called 6P, for Phthalate free. You will need 6P grade pvc material in order to achieve REACH conformity. 6P raw material is around 20% more expensive and especially need professional, completely separating that material from regular material otherwise it might spoiled and not REACH grade anymore.
