Hard enamel is carried out at the start of the production process, after stamping ( photo etch or injection ), but before polish and before plating process. ( here link to accelerated full process )

Particulars of the hard enamel process are the same as soft enamel only exacerbated:

–> Color on color design are to be avoided.

–> The difference is hard enamel being “hard” large surface are less of a problem, whereas being very thick definition is less precise, and it is suggested to make design with color bottom and metal lettering.

“ Fake hard enamel “, “epola” are other term for the conventionally called hard enamel.

True hard enamel:

True hard enamel or cloisonne is the same process as fake hard enamel widely used today.

This is the initial and original of enamel.

The difference is that it requires very high baking temperature of 400e Celsius which make it very expensive and slow to produce.

Almost no one is using true hard enamel nowadays and much less in the promotional product industry.
